Looking for a summer project to start on the house? Does your porch need some concrete work? Well, pouring your own concrete pad isn’t as difficult as you might think, and with a couple of these steps that you can follow at home, you might find yourself with a brand new porch just in time for some summer sun!
Now, some industrial supplies are needed, but for the most part, you can rent most of the tools you need for this project from your local hardware store. All you need to do is set up a border using wood studs for the concrete to be poured into. Once you get that going, to reinforce the concrete, you want to put rebar in the bottom of your frame so that the edges of your concrete don’t crack.
Now you can go ahead and pour your concrete! If you’re pouring onto an existing slab, this job is even easier for you. You just have to make sure you pour enough concrete so that the new slab is level. This is exactly how concrete contractors would do this job, so now that you know how simply it can be done, why not give it a shot?
